EXAMZZzzzz !!!!!!

Now watz the worst part of college life… ??Yaa u r right, Examz.. even worse than assignment submissions.. bcoz no scope of copying :p

so the new week starts with 3 examz.. LCS, STS, SE

For DDBMS we wil hav a take away test, it wud have been better if it was a normal exam , atleast i wud have been freed early..

now we wil hav 2 submit tht assignment, and exams are followed by BTP submission, EXoR , R&D , DDBMS Project submsission… now list wont end….. (

Now thinking of starting LCS, so no learning rite now..wil rite it soon….

I wud state some of the famous sayings on LOVE

I guess most of us are still are Nautical Miles away from this disease Love so are enjoying every Bit of Life, So for all those who are alone today “Happy Independence Day”

It is said that alcohol ruins home, but i would say Love is the root cause of all these problems, Let me explain:

If no Love –> No Marriage

No Marriage –> No Home

No Home –> No Quarrel

No Quarrel –> No Alcohol(to forget ur bad times)

So no destroying of homes.

Learnings of the Day: -

1. DOS attack: which is Denial of Sevice Attack: – a type of attack on a network that is designed to bring the network to its knees by flooding it with useless traffic.Examples include
   • attempts to “flood” a network, thereby preventing legitimate network traffic
   • attempts to disrupt connections between two machines, thereby preventing access to a service
   • attempts to prevent a particular individual from accessing a service
   • attempts to disrupt service to a specific system or person
2. Ping of Death attack : A type of DoS attack in which the attacker sends a ping request that is larger than 65,536 bytes,(default is 64 bytes) which is the maximum size that IP allows. While a ping larger than 65,536 bytes is too large to fit in one packet that can be transmitted, a packet can be fragmented, essentially splitting the packet into smaller segments that are eventually reassembled. Attacks took advantage of this flaw by fragmenting packets that when received would total more than the allowed number of bytes and would effectively cause a buffer overload on the OS at the receiving end, crashing the system.
3. Was 2000 a Leap Year ?? The rule for leap years is that all years divisable by 4 are leap years, except those years divisable by 100. The exception is that years divisible by 400 are leap years. This means that 1800 and 1900 were not leap years, but the year 2000 is a leap year.
4. Assertion : In computer programming , an assertion is a construct that indicates an assumption on which the program is based. It takes the form of an expression which is intended to be true. If an assertion proves false, it indicates a possible bug in the program. This is called an “assertion failure.”. Since assertions are primarily a development tool, they are often disabled when the program is released. It is worth distinguishing assertions from routine error handling. Assertions should be used to document logically impossible situations — if the “impossible” occurs, then something fundamental is clearly wrong. This is distinct from error handling: most error conditions are possible, although some may be extremely unlikely to occur in practice.
5. Why is C called C ?? The initial development of C occurred at AT&T Bell Labs. It was named “C” because many of its features were derived from an earlier language called “B”. Accounts differ regarding the origins of the name “B”.

So that’s all of the day, 2day me and fuzzy  tried some time on BTP, but mostly it was jus BC without cracking any nut, so we hav 2 gear up for BTP as deadline is approaching quick enuf, mid sems are approacing with spped of light, and i also hav 2 pull my socks for my work on VPL as R&D Showcase falls on starting of March ( so i am like caught in Black-Hole where escape is scientifically impossible. so not much of bc on blog, i hav 2 work…..

PS: i forgot 2 applaude Sachin , Yuvraj and Dhoni for a remarkabe win over Pakistan. gg India, clinch the series, Gud luck for rest of the series…..

Finally the blogging world has pulled me towards it… and i couldnt avoid it,,,,

I wont write much on how much blogging helps….

2day was a usual day, with me and arora trying their had luck for licking the drop of success in Bitwise the online programming contest of IIT Kharagpur…..

but we landed no where .. jus time limit exceeding errors,,, so better luck next time.. i will keep trying….

gg Turbo as he was on top from the contestants in India, and I know he deserves a great applause as he was raising the name of IIIT. Also 2 teams from IIIT were disqualified for cheating,,,

Had a look at Google’s Desktop Search.. It rulz man… too good… must use… especially for ppl looking for searching text in file….. geneates results while u r typing ur query.. very fast… but the only problem is tht it consumes a lot of Virtual Memory.. i guess researchers shud start working on providing high Memory at lower costs, rather than pumping up the clock speeds of Processor…

1. DNS : Domain Name server, that it converts the domain name into the exact IP address.
2. DOM : Document Object Model : A language independent API for managing HTML and XML documents allowing navigation of XML of HTML document structure and content.

4. PING : The name must be a common for every one but today i came to know its an abbreviated word, actually known as Packet Internet Gopher. It is a program used to test whether a particular network destination is online, by sending an Internet control message protocol (ICMP) echo request and waiting for a response
5. Gopher: A menu-based system for exploring Internet resources. A document delivery system for retrieving information from Internet. The information is stored on Gopher servers and retrieved by Gopher clients.
6. Can u have multiple sites on same IP ?? Yes, u can do it.. with some softwares, but i still wonder how do they work ?? Can somebody help me out……
7. DTD : schema specification method for XML documents. A DTD is a collection of XML markup declarations that define the structure, elements and attributes that can be used in a document that complies with that DTD.
8. If we force XML for web design, the browzer size will reduce. How? plzz put a comment on this…
