Dedication

Posted in Uncategorized on September 25, 2008 by hariveer

It is said that Life is short, but did you ever wonder why do you ever get bored ? The moment you feel bored about life, Life becomes too long to live in one life. That sounds too philosophical !! Leaving this behind and making the assumption that Life is indeed short, we leave a lot of open things daily. Since we are certain that life is uncertain, we should regularly thank people whom we should be. There are certain people in my life who have done so much for me, that even if I daily express my gratitude to them it won’t be sufficient. And topping this list is my GREAT MOTHER. This post is dedicated to HER. The association between a child and mother kicks off even when the child has not fully come to life. No wonder that mom knows all about us. I don’t have to tell her that I haven’t had my dinner, she knows by herself. Some people read other people’s face, but she has such a mighty power that she knows everything even when I am not in front of her, not even talking to her. What more, she knows more about me than I know about myself. She is a source of strength, love and everything worth I have achieved in life. Staying away from home for more than five years of my life, I have realized her importance more and more. Really, I don’t have proper words to say thanks to her, but the following song sort of conveys my feelings. I have heard/seen this song/video thousands of time and whenever I hear it, I hear it atleast 5-6 times continuously. Here it goes….

Is duniya wich jinne rishte
Sab choothe te behroop
Maa da rishta sab toh sacha
Maa hai rabb da roop
Maa hai rabb da roop

oh ohhhh oh ohhhhh
oh ohhhh oh ohhhhh

vekh layi vilayat yaaro vekh layi vilayat

PS: Some beautiful words about mother, mother tounge, mother nature, moth

Retirement

Posted in Uncategorized on September 13, 2008 by hariveer

I was once wondering, what is the ripe age for retirement and then concluded that it depends on your profession. A service class person retires as per govt. rules. Defence personal retire a bit early. Businessmen never retire. A sportsperson hangs his boots when he feels that he is not good enough for the game. Politicians begin their career when a normal person starts thinking about retirement. I think the perfect time for a particular profession is when you are no longer fascinated about it. I am not saying you should retire and sit at your home, but rather retire from the current profession and choose something that will fascinate you. Some people choose the money as the retirement criteria. But then people like Bill G should have retired long before. It is the excitement which you carry each morning to your work place that keeps you moving. If you are sulky each day you step in the office, probably time to move on.

Then I realized that I have attained this so called salvation in the first 5-6 months of my career. It doesnt mean that I dont like the work I was doing. But I wasnt excited either. I did what I was meant to, not what I wanted to. The problem is that even I dont know What I want to do. So in my 14 months stay in the Software Industry, I have already lost all the fascination. I am still committed to my work. I am also good at what I am doing. I am also paid well too. But that spark is missing somewhere. Following what I preached above, I should quit this job and do something which fascinates me(and I dont know that too !!). If I really go by heart and quit the job, roam aimlessly for sometime to find what I want to so, people will call me crazy. Not to mention, my parents will take me to psychiatrist. I dont want myself to be termed as brainsick, but I still want to find the correct path of my life. So I am left with the option to explore various activities while pursuing my current job. Another workaround could be to take a break from job and continue my studies. This way I will be able to buy time to choose the road at the crossroads of my life. But the irony is that I am clueless about my course for Masters too !!

Role Model

Often we try to find role models in our aimless life. The prospective candidates are either too powerful/rich right from their birth or too idealistic. So we hardly find someone from middle class, who achieved a lot not just riding on his luck, but through his hard work. I recently came across such a person: humble background, polite, intelligent, strategist and has strong determination. Yes, I am referring to Dr. Manmohan Singh, our PM. From a decent background, he went to achieve his masters and doctorate from best universities in the world. He was a faculty member in the renowned institutes and become a bureaucrat. His entry into politics was entirely based on his academic background. He changed the face of country with his economic liberalization and we will always remain grateful to him for that. He not only pulled the country out of dire situation, but also created strong foundation stones for the generations to come. He rose to post of PM because of his clean image. His hands were tied by clutches of coalition politics and but he had a plan at the back of his mind, which most people failed to notice. He was termed as the weakest PM India had ever seen, but he was also the most educated PM India ever had. The combo of Dr. Kalam as Prez and Dr. Singh as PM was so perfect. His strong determination and negotiation skills got the clearance of India to NSG. I am sure this step of him will reap rich benefits to us in future. What has been interesting is the growth of real politician in him. The way he won the No-Confidence Motion, the timings of each step of N-Deal, the communication etc. has really created a clever politician out of him. This provides a real role-model for a middle class people, who is educated, became a politician and changed the face of a India. All I can say to you is “Singh is King”.

PS:

  • “Singh is Kinng”, movie sucks.
  • Mamta Banerjee should come out of British era.

Virtually

I have been virtually living a Virtual Life for long-long time, but this virtual world is a big dimension in itself. I love living in dreams and it gives me the freedom I dream for. (Sort of Paradox, Leave it !!.) But dreams allow you to go beyond the horizons and stretch yourself to your imagination. I have scored centuries in 17 balls, won India-Pakistan battles single-handedly, done adventures, topped in exams, saved millions of people from terrorists very frequently in dreams. It gives me confidence, confidence that I can beat the unbeatable and also the thrill and happiness. At times when I feel low, I imagine myself in the difficult of situations, but still recover victoriously. The feel you get is so energetic that I keep living the dream again and again. This is actually the virtual world on which I thrive.

Off-Side: I was literally unaware of most of the Virtualization technologies until recently. But my latest experience with VM’s have added loads of technical gyan. I have become really fascinated with this new world. People who havent had hands-on with VM’s(Virtual Machines) must not be devoid of such things for long. Learn More.
